The EIT’s HEI Initiative helps higher education institutions build the capacity to teach innovation and entrepreneurship
The EIT HEI Initiative is pleased to announce that the second call has received 56 applications from an impressive total of 683 organisations.
This year’s applicants include:
- 311 higher education institutions (268 full partners and 43 associated partners*); and
- 372 non-higher education institutions (107 full partners and 265 associated partners).
This even distribution of organisations shows that the initiative is on the right path to achieving its goal – creating synergies between industry and higher education institutions to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe.
The consortia cover all EU Member States with 21 eligible countries from the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme, dedicated to increasing the innovation capacity of regions across Europe, and six countries coming from outside Europe.
The EIT HEI Initiative will select up to 40 consortia, and each selected project will be awarded a maximum of EUR 1.2 million. Upon successful completion of Phase 1, Phase 2 funding of up to EUR 900 000 will follow for the period from January 2023 to June 2024.
Stay tuned for the results of the winning projects and partners to be announced in July 2022.
The initiative is a joint activity of the entire EIT Community coordinated by EIT RawMaterials.
