Metals, minerals and advanced materials are the key enablers for a globally competitive, green, and digital Europe. The European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA) contributes to ensure a reliable, secure and sustainable access to raw materials.

Two months after the launch of the European Raw Materials Alliance by the European Commission, ERMA became officially operational today.

The European Raw Materials Alliance’s vision is to secure sustainable access to critical and strategic raw materials, advanced materials, and processing know-how for the EU industrial ecosystems.

Today, the European Commission, represented by Vice President Šefčovič and Commissioner Breton, launched the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA), with the presence of other EU Institutions, national Ministers, industry, unions and civil society organisations as well as key industry stakeholders.

The European Commission today presented an Action Plan on Critical Raw Materials to develop resilient value chains for EU industrial ecosystems and to secure Europe’s green and digital transition.
