Project duration: 01 January 2017 – 31 December 2018

Objective

The first activity is the Winter Business School for geo-resources engineering students. Since this first experience was organized in the CLC West, we wish to organize the 2017 Winter Business School in Freiberg (CLC East). On the long term, we could come to use the Circular economy Online Platform in Entrepreneurship – COPE that will be set up by the RWTH Aachen (of which the University of Liège is a partner). The idea is to diffuse an open call (after a meeting with the partners to decide on the chosen areas), organize a selection and host the best candidates. On the long-term, duplication of the activity and extended partnership, synergies with ID campus and Venture lab would take place. For the second activity, we want to invite professors, Post doc or PhD students from Tech countries or RREM countries specialized/specializing in a specific area (this year, the chosen areas were geostatistics, mineral processing and Geology/Process Mineralogy).

The solution (technology)

We aim to create a triple win situation between the students, the scholar and the host Institution. The students will learn from the scholars, the scholars will have access during their stay to the research facilities of the institution and the research team of the institution will expand their network and possibly have the opportunity to create a partnership or develop projects with the scholars. This activity will enable us to gain more visibility worldwide and will definitely benefit the EIT RawMaterials itself. The third activity is the geo-resources job day. It’s important that the students get to meet with European industrials (their possible future employer). They can present their master thesis research project topics and expand their professional network. On the long term, this geo-resources job day could become accessible to all graduates in the raw materials sector. It would without any doubt help the students in their job application process if they get to meet many industrials in one single day in one single place.
