Industrial Focus Areas
The alliance supports critical and strategic raw materials needs, including materials for energy storage and conversion including batteries and fuel cells.
By 2030, ERMA will:
- build the projects, not just the plans: a pipeline of extraction and processing capacity that converts the Critical Raw Materials Act's 2030 benchmarks into operating assets, developed to environmental and social standards no competing supplier can match;
- close the loop on Europe's most complex products: making recycling a primary source of supply, not a secondary ambition, and delivering the circularity that the CRMA and the Circular Economy Act now require;
- rebuild the full value chain: extraction, design, manufacturing and recycling — with a decisive focus on the midstream processing gap, where Europe's dependency is most acute and least addressed;
- turn innovation into industrial production: channelling strategic investment from lab to market so that European capability, not foreign supply, meets European demand.
