Priorities
ERMA’s activities are organized into two prioritized groups, as defined by specific value chain needs.
The first group addresses the most critical materials for many EU industries – rare earth element (REE) magnets and motors.
The second addresses raw and advanced materials for energy storage and conversion in stationary and non-stationary applications i.e., EVs and batteries.
These priorities support capacity building and the goals of the EU Just Transition fund via education, training, research and innovation.
Workstreams
Our goals will be achieved according to two key paths:
Value chain consultation processes:
- Identify and respond to raw material challenges in and outside value chains
- Provide tailored solutions to industry needs
- Unlock regulatory bottlenecks
- Promote stakeholders’ strong engagement and commitment through an open process
Investment in raw materials projects:
- Prioritize projects that secure primary and secondary raw materials supply
- Install Raw Materials Investment Platform (RMIP) to connect investors and investees
- Define case-specific financing strategies
- Assess EU funding and investment opportunities inside and outside Europe
