EIT Cross-KIC Education Cluster Freelancer

EIT RawMaterials invites qualified professionals to submit proposals for freelance support to the EIT Cross-KIC Entrepreneurial Education and Skills Cluster, a joint initiative of nine EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) working together to strengthen Europe’s skills and education ecosystem.

Overview of EIT RawMaterials

EIT RawMaterials is a ‘Knowledge and Innovation Communities’ (KICs) created by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), aimed at promoting innovation in the raw materials sector across Europe. Established in 2015, EIT RawMaterials works to secure the sustainable supply of raw materials to the European industry by driving innovation, education, and entrepreneurship along the entire raw materials value chain. We are a knowledge-driven business and a catalyst for industrial progress. Our offerings leverage our expertise and that of our network – the world's largest network in the raw [and advanced] materials sector – which includes companies at every stage of evolution, from start-ups to market leaders, along with leading international universities, research organisations, and top experts and future talent from the sector. Our activities span from mining and mineral processing to material recycling and substitution, focusing on increasing resource efficiency and fostering a circular economy.

About the EIT Cross-KIC Education and Skills Cluster

The EIT Cross-KIC Entrepreneurial Education and Skills Cluster brings together nine EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities to deliver a comprehensive, cross-sectoral education offering that supports the Union of Skills and STEM Strategic Education Plan.

The Cluster is coordinated by EIT RawMaterials and organised across five Work Packages (WPs), each led by a different KIC. EIT RawMaterials plays a key coordination role and contributes directly to multiple work streams within this cross-community collaboration.

Scope of Work

EIT RawMaterials seeks a freelancer to provide coordination and operational support across the Cluster, with a particular focus on Work Packages where EIT RawMaterials has significant responsibilities.

The assignment will require approximately 15 hours per week, continuing until the end of 2026.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the Cluster Coordinator with reporting, amendments, and internal communication.
  • Collect and consolidate budget and content inputs from all Work Packages.
  • Prepare timelines and track deliverables to ensure timely reporting.
  • Draft, edit, and format mandatory deliverables and meeting minutes.
  • Design internal templates and tools for coordination and reporting.

Work Package 4 – EIT Talent:

  • Represent EIT RawMaterials in WP4 meetings and provide regular updates.
  • Coordinate input for internship and talent-related activities.
  • Communicate developments and progress to the Cluster Coordinator.

Work Package 2 – STEM Tech Talent Induction:

  • Support EIT RawMaterials colleagues during periods of high workload, particularly in preparation for events and outreach activities.

Requirements and Evaluation

The selected freelancer should demonstrate:

  • Experience working with EIT KICs or familiarity with the EIT ecosystem.
  • Strong project management skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Knowledge of the EU Funding and Tenders Portal.
  • Proven experience managing EU co-funded projects, ideally under Horizon Europe.

  • Technical proposal addressing the scope of work.
  • Financial offer in EUR (net + VAT).
  • Information on GDPR compliance (if applicable).
  • Proof of liability and/or professional insurance.
  • Signed Tenderers’ Declaration Form (Annexe 1).
