Wastetide: Helping companies assess the value of their electronic waste
French startup Wastetide has raised €1 million, including support from EIT RawMaterials, to deploy its patented AI technology that identifies and values electronic waste from a single photo.
Location: France
Supported by: EIT RawMaterials Booster Call
Wastetide is a startup that uses artificial intelligence to help industries identify and recover the value of electronic waste. Instead of manual sorting and expert assessment, its AI analyses a simple photo of waste equipment to automatically recognise materials, estimate their resale value, and calculate the CO₂ emissions avoided through recycling.
With electronic waste volumes accelerating due to AI-driven infrastructure and the energy transition, Wastetide is helping datacentres and industrial players shift from seeing waste as a cost to recognising it as a resource.
We want industries to realise they are sitting on urban mines. The day our clients stop using the word ‘waste’ and start talking about ‘secondary materials’ — our mission will be accomplished.
