EIT Women and Girls in STEM Forum 2026
Celebrating Europe’s future space innovators
On 26 November, the top student teams from across Europe take the stage in Prague with their ideas for keeping space clean and safe. Their pitches form the finale of the Girls Go STEM Student Challenge, and the heart of the sixth EIT Women and Girls in STEM Forum.
The Forum is the annual flagship event of Girls Go STEM, an initiative of the EIT Community. It brings secondary school students and teachers from across Europe together with policymakers, industry leaders and women working in STEM, to celebrate young talent and advance gender equality.
This year, the Forum turns its eyes to space, one of the most exciting fields to work in today. Together with leading women from the sector, it explores the opportunities opening up for the next generation, and how more girls can help lead Europe’s future in space.
What to expect
The highlight of the day: the Girls Go STEM Student Challenge is an annual competition in which teams of girls aged 14 to 19 from across Europe develop solutions to a current STEM problem. This year, they took on space debris. From 28 national winning teams, the top three now bring their ideas to the stage in Prague, pitching live to a jury before the winners are revealed at the award ceremony.
From Europe’s place in the new space race to what it takes to start a career in the aerospace field, the stage programme brings together voices from across Europe’s space sector to talk about innovation, career opportunities and how the sector can attract more women and young talent.
The students and teachers taking part in the Forum join workshops and mentoring sessions with experts, gaining practical insights into STEM careers and new ideas to take back to the classroom.
The Forum is a place for students and teachers to connect with professionals from aerospace and beyond, and to discover what the EIT Community and other European organisations have to offer.
