The Behavioral Drivers Behind Due Diligence Tool Usability & Adoption
Tool Provider Workshop #5
14:00–15:00 CEST
Closing the Gap Between Insight and Action
A due diligence tool can flag a risk with total clarity — and the user still won't act on it. Somewhere between "here's the result" and "here's what I'll do about it," something breaks down: the score isn't trusted, the finding doesn't feel urgent, or the user simply doesn't come back after the first assessment.
This online workshop is designed for tool providers who want to understand the behavioral factors at play, drawing on insights from behavioral science. You'll leave with a sharper sense of where your own tool may be losing users between the result and the decision — and with practical angles for closing that gap.
In this session, we'll explore:
- Why a clear risk signal doesn't automatically become a decision
- Why some users trust an automated score completely, while others override or ignore it
- What actually happens between a first assessment and the moment a user stops coming back

Behavioural scientist and founder of Bellegarde Scientific Consulting, a research-based consultancy applying behavioural science to sustainability and circular economy challenges. His work centers on the "say-do" gap — the gap between what people intend to do and what they actually do — and how evidence-based interventions can close it. His doctoral research (Aix-Marseille University) focused on social psychology and persuasive communication.
