EIT RawMaterials is inviting candidates for Executive Board member positions of EIT RawMaterials e.V. as further set out below. EIT RawMaterials is Europe’s leading association and network spanning the entire raw materials value chain – from exploration, to mining and processing, circulating and advanced materials. As an institutionalised European public-private partnership, it was established with the mission to transform raw materials in a strategic strength for Europe by strategically supporting and investing in innovation, research, commercialisation and development, entrepreneurship and education. It is also mandated by the European Commission to lead the European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA).
The EIT RawMaterials network comprises approximately 300 European and international partner organisations, representing the “Knowledge Triangle” of industry, university and research and development. Since its founding, EIT RawMaterials has deployed over €600 million in direct strategic funding to support more than 800 projects and start-ups. These initiatives, including ERMA projects, have leveraged additional funding of €5 billion from external sources, creating a cumulative impact of more than €5.5 billion in critical and strategic raw materials projects, technologies, and programmes across Europe and beyond.
Under EIT RawMaterials-leadership, ERMA plays an important role in supporting European resilience by creating pathways to diversify its raw materials supply chains, building international partnerships, attracting new investment and securing offtake of Critical and Strategic Raw Materials in alignment with the European Union’s strategic needs. ERMA today has a membership of approximately 800 European and global projects and organisations and an advanced project pipeline of over 40 projects, representing an investment potential of more than €25 billion.
EIT RawMaterials is co-funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, under Horizon Europe. EIT RawMaterials was designated as a KIC (Knowledge and lnnovation Community) by the EIT Governing Board on 9 December 2014. EIT RawMaterials is organised as an Association under German law (EIT RawMaterials e.V.) with its headquarters in Berlin. Its operational arm is EIT RawMaterials GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EIT RawMaterials e.V., with six Regional Innovation Hubs, organised as wholly-owned subsidiaries of EIT RawMaterials GmbH, across Europe in Espoo (Finland), Lulea (Sweden), Leuven (Belgium), Metz (France), Rome (Italy) and Krakow (Poland).
