Start-ups Portfolio

EIT RawMaterials supports the following start-ups

HYBA

Italy

Providing energy in a flexible, simple and sustainable way.

HYBA is an innovative start-up whose mission is to speed up access to electric power propulsion and to design solutions that provide energy in a flexible, simple and sustainable way without compromising efficiency. HYBA has developed a standardised Swappable Battery System formed by an electric battery (the “POD”), a Rack (to hold the battery in the vehicle), and a Charger (to recharge the battery from your home).

Hyba’s swappable battery system is aimed at powering small vehicles (such as bikes, scooters, microcars, and small buses), marine engines, machines/equipment and other industrial applications. With our technology, we aim to develop a standard that is easily transferrable to all the abovementioned industrial applications and that can be used even as home energy storage.  We believe that our innovation will change the way people will power the devices they need for their daily lives.

Hymag’In

France

Breakthrough and green process for the production of micro- and nanoparticles of magnetite, a magnetic iron oxide

HYMAG’IN is developing a breakthrough and green process for the production of micro- and nanoparticles of magnetite, a magnetic iron oxide. These particles are headed to water and wastewater treatment applications. By recycling ferrous waste produced in vast amounts by the steelmaking industry, HYMAG’IN promotes the circular economy and proposes magnetite at large scale and competitive prices.

Ima Engineering

Finland

Increasing production efficiency in mining

IMA sensors collect real-time geo-metallurgical and ore grade data during production from drill cores, drill cuttings and ore on conveyor belt or loader bucket before the material enters the processing mill, concentrator or waste rock area.

INFRACONSULTING OY

Finland

Revolutionary desalination technology

Build a pressure-based pump to separate fresh water from mineral rich waters and wastewaters; Pressure-based filtering of mining water

Inframanagement AB

Sweden

Technical consultancy and products in mining, society and industry

Infra Management is a company that sells its own products and agency products:

  • Concrete Canvas (concrete on roll) that is marketed via CC Infra AB
  • Rock reinforcement products sold and marketed directly by Infra Management AB
  • Modulhus, which is built and sold by Modulhus i Norr AB in Sweden and Norway

Inkonova

Sweden

Drones for underground mines

Many areas in underground remain inaccessible for several forms of engagement (survey, inspection, etc.) using the current means. Which causes either monetary or time cost, or total halt an erroneous data. Drones on the market are normally wheels only limiting the accessability in uneven terrain, or fly-only increasing the risk for crashes and destruction of equipment.

InnSight srls

Italy

Semi-Solid process to introduce secondary aluminium alloys in automotive sector avoiding problems of poor toughness

InnSight aims to develop an innovative metallurgy process solution allowing to use low purity recycled aluminium as a raw material for manufacturing cast parts for the transportation sector, which are presently only produced using raw aluminium due to sector safety requirements.

Intrapore

Germany

Nanoremediation

Intrapore is the first company in the world entirely dedicated to the development and field application of Nanoremediation for water and groundwater decontamination, with a wide experience in the international remediation market. The start-up develops and applies non-invasive solutions to effectively remediate heavy metal contaminated water and groundwater streams related to the mining operations.

Substitution

ITO free electrochromic devices (ECD)

ITO-free electrochromic devices for smart glasses

The objective of the business idea is to replace indium-doped tin oxide (ITO) and tungsten trioxide (WO3) in electrochromic devices (ECD).
