Start-ups Portfolio

EIT RawMaterials supports the following start-ups

FACT Industries

Estonia

Smart production for sustainable future

FACT Industries are interested in studying the natural systems which shape and guide the processes of the natural world. The start-up long-term goal is to identify and characterise the scientific mechanisms specific to their principal areas of research.

Fairphone

Netherlands

The world’s first modular phone

Fairphone aims to create positive social and environmental impact from the beginning to the end of a phone’s life cycle.

FATB Oy

Finland

Turnkey energy saving services for the base metal industry

FatB oy develops a regulator for AC Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFECs). It is designed to increase production, save electrical energy and cut down on CO2 footprint.

ferroDECONT

Austria

Water treatment

ferroDECONT offers solutions for the reclamation of existing waste deposits and for the treatment of heavy metal contaminated industry and process water. The modular process concept can be implemented into an existing process or used as a stand-alone variation in the form of a flexible, mobile container system.

ferroDECONT GmbH

Austria

Water recycling solution for mine

With our innovative pump & treat reclamation technique, whereby the heavy metal contaminated effluent is pumped through a fluidized bed reactor and thereby rendered harmless, disposal costs can be reduced or water conditioned for re-circulation.

Recycling

FesiLeg

Germany

Solar cell recycling; production of ferrosilicon

FesiLeg utilises two waste streams, red mud and waste silicon (mainly of-cycle solar panels or dried saw slurry), to recover a new valuable and competitive resource, ferrosilicon. This technology offers the possibility to add other metal oxides as chromium, nickel, titanium, vanadium and others, in order to obtain ferrosilicon alloys with these metals. By this, the ferrosilicon alloys are produced with much lower energy consumption and without primary material usage – and they are free of carbon!

FLAXRES

Germany

Separated photovoltaic modules

FLAXRES has developed a new recycling process that completely recovers all materials without chemicals and enables the return of the materials into production.

fluvicon

Austria

Real-time 3D mapping of mines

fluvicon focuses on Oil & Gas, Mining and Seawater Desalination, and leads international research consortiums dealing with these topics.

Fractuscan Oy

Finland

Rock slope risk management

Fractuscan provides and develops modern solutions for rock wall risk management in mining and construction industries.
