OPICE business idea, named OPIGEO, is to sell “eco-binders materials and their products” based on alkaliactivated
cement formulations (GEOpolymers) . The competive advantange of OPIGEO production is the
strategic furniture of “reactive powders” made by aluminum-silicate waste valorization. During the past
three years troughtout research project (ERDF of Veneto region) and training (ACP1, Booster) OPICE had
the possibility to consolidate the technical and commercial aspects of the business. OPIGEO will start the
activities using in its formulations foundries by-product slag (signed contract with Foundry Corrà and
Foundry CFD) in partnership (co-funder of 40%) with Bellitalia Srl that will guaraatee the financial support
and will manage the industrialization in the first production site. In the long-term OPIGEO will extended
the furniture to other industrial companies producing industrial waste as steel slag, fly ash, glass, mud and
clays etc.. Considering the next 4 years (2020-2023) the first customers are cement based material
products for urban design. This target niche within the construction market recnognized the value of
OPIGEO products in their lower environmental impact and in their competitive price within other
geopolymers products. The results will impact both in the construction market and in the industrial waste
