The HZDR is a non-profit institution and member of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres. It pursues interdisciplinary research in the fields of health, energy and matter. The Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF) is part of HZDR and provides solutions for sustainable use of raw materials. The HIF contributes to an advanced Circular Economy by developing innovative technologies along the entire value chain from exploration to processing, metallurgy and recycling.
