Responsible Sourcing
Preliminary Agenda
14:00 - 18:00
Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and the Social License to Operate (SLO) are undoubtably the most critical aspects for a resurgent EU mining sector that is also facing challenges in innovation, finance, and overseas competition. These complex topics navigate corporate responsibility, environmental protection, ethical concerns, societal fair-share, economic needs, and legislative boundaries.
The Responsible Sourcing session will address the following points: What are responsibly sourced raw materials worth to us? What defines responsible sourcing? Can we change the bad perception of mining and if so, how? Should there be a right to ‘say no!’ to mining? Can we overcome NIMBY? Where is the common ground? How can we establish an even balance among all involved stakeholders? How can we build trust? Are we on the right path? What is missing?
