This year EIT RawMaterials once again will attend the 3rd edition of the World Materials Forum (WMF) in Nancy, France.

During this 3rd edition, the forum will focus on all solutions that allow to decouple economic growth and use of materials while creating value for all actors involved and that will include:

  • a yearly update on future materials trends shared by world top experts of the sector;
  • an all industry set of indicators that will efficiently monitor the decoupling of economic growth and use of materials while creating value for all actors;
  • a demonstration of some key practical solutions: design for lightweighting and recycling (rather than light weighting or recycling), support circular economy development thanks to proper Life Cycle Analysis and use Internet of Things and new mobility services to develop sustainable materials solutions;
  • a competition of world start-ups that offer a technology breakthrough in one of the following 6 domains: Internet of Things, 3D Manufacturing, Product Design, Materials Composition, Mobility Systems or Waste Management.

For this edition, the CEOs of Arkema (France), Faurecia (France), FPT (Vietnam), Imerys (Belgium), Ivanhoe Mining (Canada/Singapore), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Japan), SAPA (Norway), Saint Gobain (France), Smiths Group (UK), Solvay (Belgium) and Suez (France) have already accepted to be partners and co-chair the WMF plenary sessions.
