Electronic equipment is the world’s fastest-growing source of waste, with over 50 million tonnes generated each year. Recycling is increasingly high on the business agenda.

Together with Insider, Coventry University’s Centre for Sport, Exercise and Life Sciences is organising a special online forum – taking place on International E-Waste Day 2020 – to look at how businesses can recycle in safer, greener and more efficient ways.

We’re bringing together business leaders, experts and academics from organisations including Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA), BT, Microsoft and N2S to discuss what support is available, what investment is needed and what innovations are driving the sector.

Among the issues we’ll discuss are:

  • The e-waste problem
  • E-waste and sustainability
  • Sustainability and recycling options from providers
  • What industry can do to recycle e-waste
  • How industry-university partnerships can help solve the issue

We’ll also be taking a closer look at our bioleaching Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), which has allowed N2S – the UK’s market leader in IT security and data protection – to access the expertise of Professor Sebastien Farnaud to develop an innovative solution to extract the valuable material within printed circuit boards.

Join us on 14 October 2020 for what is set to be a fascinating discussion, and don’t forget to join the conversation on Twitter using #InsiderEWaste!
