For upper-secondary school students and teachers

The purpose of this day is to increase understanding and interest in innovations and education within sustainable development. At the same time, we want to generate curiosity about science and research through increased awareness of how researchers and industry work together and of their views on technology, finance and consumption in the future. During their visit, students will learn about new technology and science from different areas of research in sustainable development and circular economy. Invited students and researchers from Lund University, as well as industry representatives, will conduct demonstrations and activities inside the experiment hall.

During the day, students will be able to test the experimental stations called “Phone Breakdown” – the disassembly of a mobile phone, and “Mining and Waste Management”, among other things.

The students will also have the opportunity to take part in different lectures on topics such as Mining Sustainably, The Secret Life of Your Mobile Phone, and Material Science Studies and Research at Lund University. They will also get to see demonstrations of new technologies and processes in sustainable materials development at the Vattenhallen Science Centre.
