Industrial symbiosis: A tool for the Green Deal
16 June 2021 at 09:30 - 12:30
Moving to more circular economy models is one of the European circular economic community’s main objectives today. This transition promises a brighter future for the European economy. By helping to decouple economic growth from resource use and its impacts, the circular economy offers the prospect of real sustainable development.
Industrial Symbiosis is a way to achieve a more sustainable and integrated industrial system, which identifies business opportunities that leverage underutilised resources. Stakeholders in related sectors collaborate in order to reuse residues and use by-products properly and find innovative ways to optimise inputs.
EIT Community Circular Economy, CircLean and the ECESP are holding a #EUCircularTalks to identify the main challenges and potential solutions related to Industrial Symbiosis. The event will discuss topics such as innovation, policy options and the market. Join us on 16 June from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. CEST.
Registration is now open.
