INCO-Piles Final Conference

International Consortium to recover Critical Raw Materials from stockpiles/tailings targeting EIT RIS region

Supported by EIT RawMaterials, the INCO-Piles project aimed at evaluating innovative technologies for the sustainable extraction of CRMs from mining waste, with a focus on the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) strategic area. Two round-tables were organised in 2020 and 2021 to share expertise and experience. This final conference will focus on presenting: 

  • A case study in Greece: bauxite residues and Critical Raw Materials, including Rare Earth Elements
  • Environmental and economic assessment issues related to tailings management
