HydroMetEC is a lifelong learning programme organised within EIT Raw Materials academy, coordinated by NTNU, Norway. It educates engineers from industry, scientist at RTOs, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students about hydrometallurgy. Employees from mining, metallurgical, recycling and chemical industry are welcome to attend the project events about primary and secondary raw materials and their treatments in hydrometallurgical processes.

The advanced course is a 1.5 day comprehensive course in hydrometallurgy given by recognised academia and industrial experts and related to the important and advanced processes for the industrial applications. The course includes challenges that the industry is facing as e.g. changed raw material quality including the effect of impurities building up in the system, waste streams not possible to use presently as well as methodologies to meet environmental requirements.

Modules of the advanced course:

  • Mass and energy balance
  • Advanced kinetics and thermodynamics
  • Introduction to and use of Factsage
  • Applications (precious metals, battery metals & iron)

Target Participants:

For industry and academia; engineers, scientists, researchers, technologists, postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers in hydrometallurgy or related fields. Young or experienced individuals looking to broaden their knowledge outside their current field.

Register here by 2 October 2020.
