BizMet project at the Circular Materials Conference

The Circular Materials Conference has been postponed due to the circumstances of the coronavirus COVID-19. A new date has been scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of September, 2020 at the same venue in Gothenburg.

BizMet project, supported by EIT RawMaterials, was selected to be the highlight of the Circular Materials Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden.

On Tuesday, 18 March 2020, the session 8D will be dedicated to BizMet, an education program in the circular economy for SMEs active in metal industry and recycling.

The BizMet team will also have a booth to showcase the project’s activities, as well as the scope of work and cooperation opportunities with EIT RawMaterials.

Circular Materials Conference is a Nordic forum for industrial, scientific and commercial progress in the circular use of materials, that offers unique insight and debate in seminars, face-to-face meetings and networking for international key people, academic and commercial, that wants to be in the industry forefront at a time when we face the challenge of transformation to circular business models for the future of our planet.

In the session “BizMet – an educational program in circular economy for SMEs active in metal industry and recycling” the experience gained during the project supported by EIT RawMaterials “BizMet – Competitive Sustainable Business from Metal Recycling” on how such a project can benefit SMEs in developing their businesses in the transition to circular economy, is going to be shared.  The session highlights:

• the views of SMEs operating in metal recycling in Finland, Germany, Poland and Sweden on circular economy
• how higher education program can serve as an accelerated knowledge transfer channel towards SMEs and simultaneously produce development models for SMEs to implement in their business

The session ends up in a panel discussion where BizMet and the learnings of the project will be discussed.
