MineLCA software will transform environmental sustainability in the mining industry
Minviro has been awarded the EIT RawMaterials Booster grant, after a successful application and pitch to an expert jury. The RM Booster will accelerate the development of a software tool that will transform environmental sustainability in the mining industry. The technology supports integrating life cycle assessment (LCA) into the different development stages of mining and metal projects.
In addition to the financial boost, the successful application also means that Minviro is now part of the EIT RawMaterials partner network. This network includes a number of established and innovative organisations in the raw materials space and is a great environment to test and validate Minviro solutions.
A deeper level to sustainable mining
Minviro Project LCA is a core technology which enables mining companies to predict the environmental performance of different project and process options.
Designed to work in harmony with your existing project development framework, MineLCA removes the friction from energy strategy optimisation and harnesses the power of your building’s energy and environmental data to create dynamic forecasts for all aspects of cost, comfort and carbon optimisation.
It is great to be part of this community and I am excited to drive sustainable innovation in the raw material sector. There is significant demand increase forecast for a number of technology metals, by applying LCA approaches and Minviro’s technology, we can support in providing Europe with the raw materials needed at minimum environmental cost.
Robert Pell, Founder and CEO at Minviro
MineLCA, the newly developed solution by Minviro, brings key insights to mining companies, engineering firms and investors to quantify the environmental footprint of their resource projects. EIT RawMaterials shares with Minviro the objective to bring sustainable innovations to the raw materials sector and is happy to support Minviro within the Booster programme.
Nicolas Menou, Business Development Manager at EIT RawMaterials
EIT RawMaterials Booster programme provides support to start-ups and SMEs to develop innovative products and services that can produce an impact in the raw materials sector or benefit our partners. The application is open until 4 September 2020.
